There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Oviedo 2 (3-14) won against on the road higher ranked Culleredo (7-10) 62-56 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Fernando Suarez (-3) who scored 16 points. Center Roberto Cubero (208-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Oviedo 2's coach Agustin Munarriz used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Christian Anon (199-89) produced 8 points and 13 rebounds and Fernando Vidal (200-97) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Newly promoted Oviedo 2 maintains fifteenth place in Group A-B with 3-14 record. Loser Culleredo keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Oviedo 2 will meet at home higher ranked Obradoiro S. (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
