Regular Season Round 12: VK-Kamane - Alytaus 40-117

Leader Alytaus delivered the tenth victory. This time they crushed 10th ranked VK-Kamane (1-10) 117-40 in Vilnius. Alytaus held VK-Kamane to an opponent 20.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 55.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded VK-Kamane 61-36 including a 42-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Alytaus players were unselfish on offense dishing 40 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by VK-Kamane's players. It was a good game for center Ieva Knyziene (192-93) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Rita Zilinskaite (175-92) contributed with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Alytaus' coach Kristina Griziene felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Raminta Sakickaite (180-98) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and center Kornelija Vasilevskaite (181-98) added 7 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for VK-Kamane. Alytaus (10-1) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position. VK-Kamane lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with ten games lost. Alytaus will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. VK-Kamane will play on the road against Zalgiris (#5) in Kaunas to get more than just one victory in their record.
