Regular Season Round 17: Giessen - Ludwigsburg 76-86

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Ludwigsburg (8-5) defeated on the road 3rd placed Giessen Pointers (8-5) 86-76 on Sunday. Eduard Roschnafsky (210-3) stepped up and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Paul Minjoth (197-3) chipped in 18 points. Four Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Ludwigsburg's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Benjamin Lischka (204-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Robin Njie (198-1) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Ludwigsburg have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in South West, which they share with Giessen and Kronberg. Ludwigsburg will meet league's leader Stuttgart on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Giessen Pointers will play against Fellbach and hope to secure a win.
