Regular Season Round 13: Anagennises - Anorthosis 65-50

An interesting game for Anagennises (8-3) which hosted in Limassol their biggest opponent Anorthosis (10-3). Third ranked Anagennises had an easy win 65-50. It looked good early as Anorthosis took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Anagennises had a 16-6 second period charge getting the lead and Anorthosis was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 50-65. Anagennises dominated on the defensive end, holding Anorthosis to just 6 points in second quarter. They also forced 22 Anorthosis turnovers. American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-95, college: CBU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners and naturalized Bulgarian power forward Styliana Velinova (192-0) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Anagennises players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Diana Delva (187-88, college: Hartford) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and the former international forward Tijana Raca (183-97, college: Wyoming) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Anagennises maintains third place with 8-3 record having five points less than leader AEL. Defending champion Anorthosis keeps the second position with three games lost.
