Regular Season Round 20: Tarbes-Lourdes - Poitiers 71-74

Eighth-ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (9-10) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Poitiers (16-5). The visitors from Poitiers managed to secure only three-point victory 74-71. However their fans expected much easier game. Poitiers outrebounded Lourdes-Tarbes 36-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian Lovro Mazalin (204-97) who added 10 points during the contest. Serbian-Montenegrin power forward Luka Nikolic (209-94) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Anthony Prugnieres (200-92) scored 13 points. Lourdes-Tarbes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Poitiers have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group A with 16-5 record having just one victory less than leader Caen. Lourdes-Tarbes at the other side dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. Poitiers will play against La Rochelle (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against Lorient and hopes to get back on the winning track.
