There was an upset when higher ranked Murcia (10-7) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Zaragoza (7-11) 91-78 on Wednesday. Zaragoza forced 25 Murcia turnovers. Strangely Murcia outrebounded Zaragoza 44-27 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Polish Adam Waczynski (199-89) who scored 19 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American point guard Jordan Bone (190-97, college: Tennessee) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. American point guard Isaiah Taylor (190-94, college: Texas) produced 24 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import James Webb III (203-93, college: Boise St.) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zaragoza maintains twelfth position with 7-11 record. Loser Murcia dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. Zaragoza will meet at home Unicaja (#13) in the next round. Murcia will play against Tenerife (#9) and hope to secure a win.
