Regular Season Round 9: Peja - Ylli 87-90

The most exciting game of round 9 in the Liga Unike took place in Peja. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-best Peja (6-3) to first ranked Ylli (8-1) 90-87 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Peja. Ylli looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a good game for Croatian forward Henrik Sirko (199-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Slovenian-Kosovan Gezim Morina (204-92) contributed with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Stephen Maxwell (201-93, college: CSUN) answered with 32 points and 6 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and Albanian forward Daniel Lekndreaj (192-97) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Peja. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ylli have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending Kosovan champion maintains first place with 8-1 record. Peja at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Prizreni-16. Ylli are looking forward to face Teuta (#4) in Durres in the next round. Peja will play on the road against Kamza in Tirana and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
