Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Huesca (2-14) was edged at home by eighth ranked Castello (9-7) 94-93 on Friday. Castello made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Joan Faner (176-90) who scored 21 points. American forward Eric Stutz (205-92, college: EKU) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Xavier Rey (210-87) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Jaime Fernandez (206-0) added 22 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Castello moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Acunsa GBC and Coruna. Huesca lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Castello will meet at home Palencia (#9) in the next round. Huesca will play against Almansa (#10) and hope to secure a win.
