Very important is a home loss of third ranked Alftanes (11-6) against sixth ranked Selfoss (8-8) on Friday night. Host Alftanes were defeated by Selfoss in a tough game at home 87-94. The guests trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 30-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American point guard Trevon Evans (183-95, college: Sioux Falls) notched 43 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals to lead the effort and American-Dutch Gerald Robinson (202-84, college: UT Martin) supported him with 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Selfoss players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by Eysteinn Aevarsson (192-95) did not help to save the game for Alftanes. American forward Cedrick Bowen (198-92, college: Charleston So.) added 22 points and 6 rebounds. Alftanes' coach Hrafn Kristjansson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Selfoss maintains sixth position with 8-8 record. Alftanes lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with six games lost. They share the position with Fjolnir. Selfoss will meet Hamar (#9) on the road in the next round. Alftanes will play against Skallagrimur (#7) and hope to secure a win.
