Regular Season Round 18: OGM Orman - Samsun 72-68

Round in TBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Ankara where host OGM Orman (11-6) beat league's leader Samsun (13-4) 72-68 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Samsun. OGM Orman had a 43-31 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian center Andy Ogide (206-87, college: Colorado St.) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. American guard Bruce Massey (190-90, college: MTSU) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. Four OGM Orman players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Izzet Turkyilmaz (212-90) who recorded 13 points and 8 rebounds and guard Gokhan Aydin (191-95) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Samsun's coach Ilker Salman tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. OGM Orman moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Mamak. Newly promoted Samsun still keeps top position with four games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Manisa who have the same record. Samsun will play next round against Balikesir trying to make it back to the top of the standings. OGM Orman will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Mersin BBGSK on the road.
