Regular Season Round 21: Poitiers - Toulouse 74-58

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Toulouse (10-10) was defeated on the road by second ranked Poitiers (17-5) 74-58 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) who scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Croatian Lovro Mazalin (204-97) chipped in 18 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Ron Anderson Jr (203-89, college: S.Florida) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Adrien Thimon (188-94) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Toulouse's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Poitiers. They maintain second place in Group A with 17-5 record having just one victory less than leader Caen. Loser Toulouse keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Vitre. Poitiers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toulouse will play against Lorient (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
