No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Beroe (8-7) beat on the road bottom-ranked Shumen (1-14) 81-65 on Sunday. The winners were led by swingman Martin Sotirov (201-99) who scored that evening 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian-American Obinna Oleka (203-93, college: Arizona St., agency: Slash Sports) supported him with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Five Beroe players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 9 rebounds by guard Aleksandar Milov (198-95) did not help to save the game for Shumen. American point guard Marcus Myers (185-96, college: Aurora) added 7 points and 9 assists for lost side. Shumen's coach Yanko Yankov rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Beroe maintains fifth position with 8-7 record. Shumen lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Beroe will meet at home higher ranked Levski (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shumen will play against Balkan (#3) in Botevgrad and hope to win that game.
