There was an upset when higher ranked Tuebingen 2 (7-7) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Limburg (7-9) 81-69 on Sunday. Limburg dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Tuebingen 2's 20. They outrebounded Tuebingen 2 49-22 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Limburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American power forward KJ Sherrill (203-91, college: Augusta) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Austrian-Croatian point guard Matej Kljaic (189-93) chipped in 18 points and 10 assists during the contest. Five Limburg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Niklas Schueler (183-97) with 25 points and 7 assists and point guard Daniel Zacek (180-1) scored 20 points and 5 assists. Limburg moved-up to eighth place in South West. Loser Tuebingen 2 keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Fellbach. Limburg will meet at home higher ranked Kronberg (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tuebingen 2 will play against Ulm BBU 01 and hope to secure a win.
