There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Monopoli AN (6-10) won against at home 4th placed Salerno (11-6) 72-62 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was point guard Giovanni Laquintana (187-91) who scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Jacopo Ragusa (203-0) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Mattia Coltro (184-97) produced 15 points and power forward Niccolo Rinaldi (198-93) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Salerno's coach Giampaolo Di Lorenzo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Monopoli AN maintains thirteenth place with 6-10 record. Loser Salerno keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Imola. Monopoli AN will meet higher ranked Ragusa (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
