Regular Season Round 16: Slavia - Slovanka MB 89-53

There was no surprise in Praha where 6th ranked Slovanka MB (5-7) was crushed by fourth ranked Slavia (9-4) 89-53 on Monday. Slavia dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Slovanka MB's 30. They outrebounded Slovanka MB 50-35 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Slavia looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Slovanka MB's players. The former international point guard Eliska Mircova (176-96) fired 26 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Center Katerina Rokosova (193-97) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds. Four Slavia players scored in double figures. Point guard Katerina Zeithammerova (162-2) produced 12 points and 4 assists and Eliska Brejchova (181-3) added 11 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Slavia have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 9-4 record. Slovanka MB at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Slavia are looking forward to face Chomutov (#7) at home in the next round. Slovanka MB will play against the league's leader USK Praha and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
