Rather predictable result when second ranked Hottur (14-3) won against 6th ranked Selfoss (8-8) in Egilsstadir 107-99 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 107-99. Hottur looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Tim Guers (190-96, college: St.Anselm) notched 29 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and Croatian forward Matej Karlovic (200-89) supported him with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 28 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists by American-Dutch Gerald Robinson (202-84, college: UT Martin) did not help to save the game for Selfoss. American point guard Trevon Evans (183-95, college: Sioux Falls) added 23 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Hottur and five Selfoss players scored in double figures. Hottur keeps a position of league leader. Loser Selfoss keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Hottur will meet at home Hrunamenn (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
