There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Ramla (9-5) defeated at home second-ranked Rishon LZ (10-3) 75-70 on Monday. American forward Emma Cannon (190-89, college: FSC) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Swedish guard Paulina Hersler (190-94, college: Florida) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Jennie Simms (183-94, college: ODU) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Dekeiya Cohen (188-96, college: Baylor) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Ramla. They maintain fourth place with 9-5 record, which they share with Ramat H. Loser Rishon LZ keeps the second position with three games lost. Ramla will meet Holon (#8) in the next round. Rishon LZ will play against Hertzeliya (#9) and hope to secure a win.
