Regular Season Round 18: Saint Vallier - Rouen 94-88
Date: February 4, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked SPO Rouen (3-14) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Saint Vallier (10-8) 94-88 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Saint Vallier had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. American-Jamaican center Ryan Rhoomes (203-92, college: Fordham) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Demond Watt (200-89, college: TAMUCC) chipped in 12 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Saint Vallier's coach Philippe Namyst used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Pierre-Etienne Drouault (196-90) with 23 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Ousmane Camara (205-89) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Five Saint Vallier and four SPO Rouen players scored in double figures. Saint Vallier have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Saint Vallier maintains fifth position with 10-8 record. SPO Rouen lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Saint Vallier will meet Saint-Quentin (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. SPO Rouen will play against ADA Blois (#6) and hope to secure a win.
