There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Tours (8-7) won against at home their close opponent Aix-Maurienne (9-9) 82-67 on Friday. Tours made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. American guard James Batemon (185-97, college: LMU) scored 20 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Dylan Affo Mama (196-99) chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Senegalese center Cheikh Sane (207-92, college: Marshall) with 12 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Swiss power forward David Ramseyer (202-87) scored 17 points. Aix-Maurienne's coach Emmanuel Schmitt tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tours moved-up to ninth place. Aix-Maurienne lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Tours will meet league's second-placed Chalon/Saor on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aix-Maurienne will play against Quimper UJAP (#13) and hope to secure a win.
