Regular Season Round 19: Gandia - Torrent 83-61

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Torrent (9-6) was outscored on the road by second ranked Gandia (13-2) 83-61 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for guard Alejandro Requena (189-1) who led the winners and scored 24 points. Forward Alejandro Terrades (196-1) accounted for 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Mark Hetor (197-1) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Pablo Murcia (179-1) added 7 points and 4 assists respectively for Torrent in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gandia maintains second place in Group D-A with 13-2 record behind leader Lliria. Loser Torrent dropped to the third position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
