Regular Season Round 19: Sol Girones - Girona B 57-51

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when their biggest opponent Girona B (10-4) lost to third ranked Sol Girones (10-3) in La Bisbal 51-57 on Saturday. It was a key game for the second position in Group C-3. Sol Girones forced 21 Girona B turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Isaac Valera (191-92) who led the winners and scored 22 points. Point guard Xavier Torrent (176-90) accounted for 14 points for the winning side. Toni Espinosa (195-96) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Kevin Torres (-3) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Girona B in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sol Girones have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in Group C-3. Newly promoted Girona B dropped to the third position with four games lost. Sol Girones will meet at home Santfeliuenc (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Girona B will play against Andratx (#12) and hope to secure a win.
