Regular Season Round 21: Alba - Sopron KC 80-83
Date: February 5, 2022
The most exciting game of round 21 in the A Division took place in Szekesfehervar. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Alba (11-10) to third ranked Sopron KC (14-7) 83-80 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Alba. It was a good game for American forward Quincy Ford (203-93, college: Northeastern) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Teyvon Myers (188-94, college: WVU) contributed with 23 points and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Lenzelle Smith Jr (193-91, college: Ohio St.) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and international swingman David Vojvoda (195-90) added 22 points in the effort for Alba. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Alba's coach Matthias Zollner rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sopron KC have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain third place with 14-7 record having just two points less than leader Szombathely. Alba at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with DEAC. Sopron KC are looking forward to face league's second-placed Szolnok at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alba will play against Kormend (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
