Regular Season Round 23: Cergy-Pontoise - Tarbes-Lourdes 88-75

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (9-11) lost to eighth ranked Pontoise (11-12) in Cergy 75-88 on Saturday. Pontoise made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Vinnie Shahid (180-98, college: NDSU) who led the winners and scored 26 points. Naturalized Senegalese forward Antoine Mendy (198-83, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Serbian-Montenegrin power forward Luka Nikolic (209-94) came up with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Mozambican-American guard Kendal Manuel (194-97, college: Montana, agency: Inception Sports) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Lourdes-Tarbes in the defeat. Five Pontoise and four Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. Pontoise moved-up to seventh place in Group A, which they share with Stade Rochelais. Lourdes-Tarbes lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Pontoise will meet Union Rennes (#13) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against Dax-Gamarde in Gamarde les Bains and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
