No shocking result in a game when second ranked Hapoel H/M (14-5) beat on the road 9th ranked E.Ashkelon (7-10) 100-92 on Sunday. Hapoel H/M made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by point guard Eyal Shulman (192-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) who scored that evening 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and power forward Jonatan Mor (204-95) supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Hapoel H/M players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 9 rebounds by American Storm Warren (211-88, college: LSU) did not help to save the game for E.Ashkelon. His fellow American import JR Holder (198-94, college: Jacksonville) added 21 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel H/M have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-5 record behind leader I.Nahariya. E.Ashkelon lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with ten games lost. They share the position with M.Raanana. Hapoel H/M will meet at home M.Haifa (#6) in the next round. E.Ashkelon will play against H.Izrael in Nazareth and hope to secure a win.
