Regular Season Round 24: Dax-Gamarde - Tarbes-Lourdes 78-100

There was a minor upset in Gamarde les Bains where 9th ranked Dax-Gamarde (10-13) was outplayed by eleventh ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (10-11) 100-78 on Tuesday. Lourdes-Tarbes shot 62.1 percent from the field. Lourdes-Tarbes outrebounded Dax-Gamarde 34-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Lourdes-Tarbes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Mozambican-American guard Kendal Manuel (194-97, college: Montana, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 19 points and 6 assists. Serbian-Montenegrin power forward Luka Nikolic (209-94) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Lourdes-Tarbes' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian forward Gilvydas Biruta (206-91, college: URI) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Anthony Da Silva (185-1) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes moved-up to ninth place in Group A. Loser Dax-Gamarde dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Toulouse. Lourdes-Tarbes will meet at home Union Rennes (#13) in the next round. Dax-Gamarde will play against Lorient and hope to secure a win.
