Regular Season Round 14: Vera - TSU 97-99

Superleague round 14 most important game was a victory of TSU over one of their biggest challengers Vera 99-97 on Thursday night. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Vera. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 49-45 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. TSU looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American guard Lovell Cabbil (188-97, college: Liberty) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 assists. The other American import guard Ryle Owens (192-97, college: Young Harris) contributed with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Cabbil is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Zac Seljaas (202-97, college: BYU) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Vakhtang Kadaria (205-89, college: Mineral Area) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Vera. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TSU maintains second position with 9-2 record having just one point less than leader Kutaisi. Vera at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. TSU are looking forward to face Rustavi (#6) at home in the next round. Vera's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Mega.
