The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kaunas: LSU-Kaunas (#3) and Kauno-LSMU (#7). LSU-Kaunas (10-2) crushed visiting Kauno-LSMU (4-8) by 18 points 58-40. LSU-Kaunas forced 27 Kauno-LSMU turnovers. Strangely Kauno-LSMU outrebounded LSU-Kaunas 38-25 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Dovile Luksiene (174-92) who scored 11 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Guard Ieva Stankeviciute (176-89) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Gabija Segzdaite (185-0) who recorded 6 points and 9 rebounds and center Brigita Turskyte (182-99) added 8 points respectively. LSU-Kaunas moved-up to second place, which they share with Vilniaus Svaja. Kauno-LSMU lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. LSU-Kaunas is looking forward to face VK-Kamane (#10) in Vilnius in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kauno-LSMU will have a break next round.
