Regular Season Round 31: Kyiv Basket - Dnipro 60-79

The game between third ranked Kyiv Basket (18-9) and fourth ranked Dnipro (17-10) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Kyiv Basket was crushed by Dnipro in Kyiv 60-79. The game was mostly controlled by Dnipro. Kyiv Basket managed to win fourth quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kyiv Basket to just 6 points in third quarter. Dnipro looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard DJ Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio) who helped to win the game recording 4 points, 9 rebounds, 12 assists and 6 steals. The former international center Viacheslav Kravtsov (212-87, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Bernard Thompson (191-93, college: FGCU) answered with 12 points and 8 assists and the former international Andrii Voinalovych (207-99) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kyiv Basket. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dnipro have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 17-10 record. Kyiv Basket at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. Dnipro are looking forward to face Ternopil-TNEU (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kyiv Basket will play against K.Sokoly (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
