Leader Hottur delivered the seventeenth victory on Friday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Selfoss (8-9) 89-71. The game without a history. Hottur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of American guard Tim Guers (190-96, college: St.Anselm) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists and Spanish point guard Arturo Fernandez (182-90) who added 23 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American-Dutch Gerald Robinson (202-84, college: UT Martin) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and Slovenian forward Gasper Rojko (200-96) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hottur have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-3 record. Loser Selfoss keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Hottur will meet at home Alftanes (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Selfoss will play against the league's second-placed Haukar in Hafnarfjordur and hope to secure a win.
