There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Fuenlabrada 2 (8-10) crushed on the road higher ranked Alcala (12-8) 96-62 on Saturday. Fuenlabrada 2 forced 19 Alcala turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by Argentinian center Juan Fernandez (209-2) who scored that evening 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Latvian forward Rodijs Macoha (200-2) supported him with 23 points. Fuenlabrada 2's coach Jose Luis Pichel felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by power forward Alvaro Biersack (198-95) did not help to save the game for Alcala. Pablo Lopez (194-97) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Five Fuenlabrada 2 and four Alcala players scored in double figures. Fuenlabrada 2 maintains twelfth position in Group B with 8-10 record. Loser Alcala dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Fuenlabrada 2 will meet at home higher ranked Alcobendas (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Alcala will play against La Matanza in Las Palmas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
