Regular Season Round 20: Novaschool - Jaen 93-77
Date: February 12, 2022
Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Novaschool (8-9) won against 10th ranked Jaen (5-10) in Malaga 93-77 on Saturday. Novaschool dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Jaen's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Novaschool made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American Alex Jackson (200-84, college: UMSL) who scored that evening 19 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Andres Aguado (183-96, college: ACU) supported him with 21 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Jackson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Novaschool players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds by forward Javier Santabarbara (197-95) did not help to save the game for Jaen. Point guard Ivan Casas (185-3) added 22 points and 6 assists for the guests. Jaen's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Novaschool have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position in Group D-A with 8-9 record. Newly promoted Jaen keeps the tenth place with ten games lost. Novaschool will meet league's leader Almeria on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jaen will have a break next round.
