Regular Season Round 16: Pyrinto - HNMKY 69-73

Bottom-ranked HNMKY managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they won against fourth-ranked Pyrinto in Tampere 73-69. It looked good early as Pyrinto took a 18-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then HNMKY took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 4 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Pyrinto's 20. They outrebounded Pyrinto 44-29 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Henri Mennander (204-3) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and center Roni Vuori (205-2) who added 16 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Kion Williams (186-3) responded with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Roni Ahvenjarvi (197-2) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. HNMKY (3-10) moved-up to ninth place. Pyrinto at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Kouvot. HNMKY's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Helsinki MuKi.
