Regular Season Round 18: Levski - Balkan 59-72

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Sofia. Third ranked Balkan faced 4th ranked Levski. Guests from Botevgrad (11-4) defeated host Levski (9-5) 72-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Levski. Balkan forced 20 Levski turnovers. The best player for the winners was American point guard Ahmaad Rorie (184-95, college: Montana) who scored 20 points. The other American import guard Derrick Marks (191-93, college: Boise St.) chipped in 18 points. Four Balkan players scored in double figures. Balkan's coach Nebojsa Vidic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Chavdar Kostov (196-88, agency: BIG) who recorded 22 points and Croatian power forward Ivica Radic (208-90, agency: BIG) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Balkan moved-up to second place, which they share with Chernomorets. Defending champion Levski keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Balkan is looking forward to face league's leader Rilski in Samokov in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Levski will play on the road against Yambol and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
