There was a surprise result when Olhanense defeated at home Electrico FC 84-77 on Saturday. Olhanense forced 19 Electrico FC turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Bakari Copeland (198-95, college: UMES, agency: Interperformances) who scored 27 points. Guard Joao Carreiras (180-1) chipped in 15 points and 9 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Swingman Joao Lanzinha (190-89) produced 19 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals and naturalized Cape Verdean center Mario Neves (194-77) added 6 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Electrico FC's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olhanense will meet Sanjoanense in the next round. Electrico FC will play against NB Queluz and hope to secure a win.
