We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Joventut (10-8) lost to sixth ranked Tenerife (11-8) in Badalona 58-74 on Saturday. Brazilian-Italian point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-83) notched 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (217-89, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds by Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Joventut. The former international guard Pau Ribas (194-87) added 5 points and 7 assists for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Tenerife moved-up to fifth place. Joventut lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Murcia. Tenerife will meet at home Obradoiro (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Joventut will play against Bilbao (#10) and hope to secure a win.
