Second Stage Round 4: Usti n/Labem - Brno 76-78

Eighth-ranked Usti n/Labem (11-14) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Brno (17-8) in Usti nad Labem on Sunday. The visitors from Brno managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Simon Pursl (205-97, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Hunter Mickelson (208-92, college: Kansas) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Brno players scored in double figures. Brno's coach Lubomir Ruzicka used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Spencer Svejcar (193-94, college: Alaska-Anch., agency: One Motive Sports) replied with 28 points and his fellow American import swingman Lamb Autrey (190-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) added 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Usti n/Labem. Brno maintains third position with 17-8 record having just five point less than leader Nymburk. Usti n/Labem lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. Brno are looking forward to face league's leader Nymburk on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Usti n/Labem will play against Kolin (#5) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
