Very predictable result when third ranked Rimini (14-3) rolled over at home 15th ranked Civitanova (2-16) 101-71 on Sunday. Rimini dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Civitanova's 24. They outrebounded Civitanova 40-22 including a 32-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rimini looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Civitanova's players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Stefano Masciadri (200-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Bulgarian Borislav Mladenov (202-0, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Guard Gianpaolo Riccio (193-96, college: Ave Maria) came up with 28 points and Nicholas Dessi (200-98, agency: SLN) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Civitanova in the defeat. Five Rimini and four Civitanova players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rimini moved-up to second place in B. Loser Civitanova keeps the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Rimini will meet Jesi (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Civitanova will play against Ozzano in Ozzano dell Emilia and hope to secure a win.
