Second Stage Round 3: Bremerhaven - Dresden 65-62

There was a minor upset when Dresden (2-10) was edged on the road by Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (2-10) 65-62 on Sunday. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Dresden turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Carlo Meyer (191-3) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Mitja Kruhl (184-3) chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!). Eisbaeren Bremerhaven's coach Tomasz Kumaszynski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Ludwig Hassler (202-5) who recorded 21 points and 6 rebounds and Soren Nagora (187-5) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will meet Heroes (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dresden will play against Oldenburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
