Regular Season Round 24: Khimki - TSU 86-79

The most important game in the last round took place in Khimki between third ranked TSU (17-5) and fourteenth ranked Khimki (6-15) on Monday night. TSU was defeated by Khimki in a tough game on the road 79-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of TSU. Khimki made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by TSU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was power forward Alexandr Kurbatov (208-97) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Kazakhstan forward Alexandr Zhigulin (205-94) chipped in 17 points. Five Khimki players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Daniil Aksenov (195-95) who recorded 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Maxim Kolyushkin (191-90) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimki moved-up to thirteenth place. TSU at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Khimki are looking forward to face league's second-placed Uralmash in Yekaterinburg in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. TSU will play on the road against Univ.Surgut and is hoping to win this game.
