Regular Season Round 21: Haukar - Selfoss 104-81

D1 top team - Haukar (18-2) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Selfoss (9-10) in Hafnarfjordur 104-81. The game without a history. Haukar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Haukar outrebounded Selfoss 37-22 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Spanish point guard Jose Medina (185-1993) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and American guard Jeremy Smith (190-1991, college: Nicholls St.) accounted for 23 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Haukar players scored in double figures. Haukar's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Trevon Evans (183-1995, college: Sioux Falls) came up with 28 points and 7 assists and American-Dutch Gerald Robinson (202-1984, college: UT Martin) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Selfoss in the defeat. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Haukar. They maintain first place with 18-2 record. Selfoss lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. Haukar will meet Skallagrimur (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Selfoss will play against Hamar and hope to secure a win.
