There was no surprise when 14th ranked Fuenlabrada (7-15) was defeated on the road by third ranked Manresa (15-6) 99-89 on Wednesday. It was a great shooting night for Manresa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was Nigerian forward Chima Moneke (198-1995, college: UC Davis) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Joe Thomasson (193-1993, college: Wright St., agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Slovenian guard Ziga Samar (197-2001) produced 13 points and 8 assists and Brazilian Leonardo Meindl (201-1993) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Manresa maintains third place with 15-6 record behind leader Barca. Fuenlabrada lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Andorra and Obradoiro. Manresa will again meet at home Fuenlabrada (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Fuenlabrada will have a break next round.
