Regular Season Round 24: Aalst - Belfius Mons 68-69

Eighth-ranked Okapi Aalst (5-12) gave a tough game to third ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (11-6) on Wednesday. The visitors from Jemappes managed to secure only one-point victory 69-68. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marcus Tyus (185-1994, college: Omaha) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import point guard David Nichols (183-1996, college: FSU) who added 25 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Serbian Nikola Popovic (211-1997, college: Boston Coll.) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and American Shavon Coleman (196-1992, college: LSU) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Belfius Mons-Hainaut have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 11-6 record having four points less than leader Den Bosch. Okapi Aalst lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
