Bottom-ranked Lok.Kuban managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of ten consecutive losses. This time they edged eleventh-ranked Dinamo V. in Krasnodar 93-92. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dinamo V.. Lok.Kuban forced 19 Dinamo V. turnovers. Strangely Dinamo V. outrebounded Lok.Kuban 38-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Lok.Kuban players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Dinamo V. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Egor Sychkov (208-2001) stepped up and scored 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Kirill Temirov (198-2002) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. At the losing side Belarusian guard Kirill Sitnik (190-1989) responded with 22 points and 8 assists and forward Vyacheslav Grachev (202-1997) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lok.Kuban maintains fifteenth place with 4-20 record. Newly promoted Dinamo V. keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Lok.Kuban will play against higher ranked CSKA 2 (#4) in Moscow in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dinamo V. will play at home against Khimki (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
