Regular Season Round 18: Sloga Uppsala - Alvik 81-72

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Sloga Uppsala (13-5) beat at home 6th ranked Alvik (8-7) 81-72 on Thursday. Sloga Uppsala made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Naturalized Serbian guard Stefan Zivkovic (185-1993) notched 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and naturalized Serbian forward Dragan Damjanovic (203-1988) supported him with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds by forward Alexander Holmstrom-Forster (198-1992) did not help to save the game for Alvik. Guard Jonas Rusom (191-1994, college: Hagerstown) added 22 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sloga Uppsala maintains third position with 13-5 record behind leader Tureberg. Alvik lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Sloga Uppsala will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Alvik will play against AIK 2 (#10) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Superettan just one year after relegation.
