Second Stage Round 2: Sokol Pisek - Novy Jicin 108-67

The game between Top Four teams took place in Pisek. host Sokol Pisek smashed Novy Jicin 108-67. Sokol Pisek dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Novy Jicin's 32. Sokol Pisek forced 20 Novy Jicin turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Novy Jicin's players. Swingman Petr Slechta (192-1995) notched 25 points to lead the effort and guard Vojtech Sykora (189-2001) supported him with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Sokol Pisek players scored in double figures. Sokol Pisek's coach Jan Cech felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by Italian Gianluca Prosek (197-2000) did not help to save the game for Novy Jicin. Guard Jan Kelar (192-1997) added 15 points for the guests. Sokol Pisek will play against Ostrava on the road in the next round. Novy Jicin will play against Slavia Praha and hopes to get back on the winning track.
