Regular Season Round 21: Westerstede - Rendsburg 73-79

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Rendsburg (12-9) beat on the road 4th placed Westerstede (11-7) 79-73 on Saturday. Swedish guard Andree Michelsson (188-1997) nailed 26 points for the winning side and forward Henning Rixen (196-1999) accounted for 21 points. Point guard Fritz Hemschemeier (182-1998) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists and Jerry Ndhine (198-2002) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Westerstede in the defeat. Four Westerstede players scored in double figures. Rendsburg moved-up to fourth place in North. Westerstede lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Rendsburg will meet at home Bramsche (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Westerstede will play against WSG Koenigs (#9) in Wildau and hope to secure a win.
