Everything went according to plan in Las Palmas where third ranked Alcala (14-8) beat 9th ranked La Matanza (9-12) 74-69 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was power forward Alvaro Biersack (198-1995) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Oscar Mendez (182-2000) chipped in 9 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Lazaro Gonzalez (190-1993) who recorded 25 points and 6 rebounds and Adrian Tato (190-2000) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Alcala maintains third place with 14-8 record having just two point less than leader Corazon, which they share with 3 other teams.
