Regular Season Round 23: Schwelm - TKS 49ers 79-69

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed TKS 49ers (11-8) were defeated on the road by fifth ranked Schwelm (11-8) 79-69 on Saturday. Schwelm dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to TKS 49ers' 30. It was a great evening for point guard Rupert Hennen (184-1997) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 assists. American CJ Oldham (201-1991, college: Gannon) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Schwelm players scored in double figures. Center Robin Jorch (211-1994, college: Boise St.) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds and Sebastian Fuelle (192-1992) scored 12 points and 4 assists. TKS 49ers' coach Vladimir Pastushenko rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Schwelm moved-up to fourth place in North, which they share with defeated TKS 49ers. Schwelm will meet league's leader Muenster on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. TKS 49ers will play against Sixers and hope to secure a win.
