Regular Season Round 21: Goetting.ASC - Vechta 2 96-105

Regionalliga top team - Vechta-2 (17-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Goetting.ASC (9-9) in Goettingen 105-96. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Goetting.ASC. Vechta-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Goetting.ASC's 46. Kevin Smit (183-1991) stepped up and scored 36 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and American forward Marshawn Blackmon (196-1997, college: Newman) chipped in 23 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Nick Boakye (197-1995) with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and center Nikolas Schultz (206-1999) scored 29 points and 7 rebounds. Four Goetting.ASC players scored in double figures. Vechta-2 have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place in North with 17-4 record. Goetting.ASC at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Vechta-2 will play against SG Braunschweig (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Goetting.ASC will play against Neustadt TSV (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
