Regular Season Round 22: Hamar - Selfoss 81-94

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Hamar (3-16) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Selfoss (10-10) 94-81. It looked good early as Hamar took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Selfoss had a 31-15 second period charge getting the lead and Hamar was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 81-94. Hamar was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Trevon Evans (183-1995, college: Sioux Falls) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and American-Dutch Gerald Robinson (202-1984, college: UT Martin) supported him with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Four Selfoss players scored in double figures. Even 28 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Dee Franklin (196-1992, college: FVSU) did not help to save the game for Hamar. Guard Kristinn Olafsson (182-1988) added 18 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Hamar's coach Rui Costa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Selfoss maintains sixth position with 10-10 record. Hamar lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 16 games lost. Selfoss will play against higher ranked Fjolnir (#4) in Reykjavik in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hamar will play on the road against IA (#10) in Akranes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
